He touched up the original paint, blended it in well, and added a fresh protective coat. The craftsmanship and character of this wine rack canoe are on another level. I have had it for several months and it still grabs attention every time someone sees it. It feels like owning a piece of living history.
The canoe was hand carved from a single log by fishermen in the Mentawai Islands and spent years working the Indian Ocean before reaching Voiej. The finishes keep the wood looking natural and make maintenance easy. I am genuinely happy with this purchase and would recommend Zaid without hesitation.

These side tables are even better in person than in the detailed photos on the Voiej website! I purchased two, and each is beautifully made with a gorgeous patina. To top it off, Zaid is just wonderful - easy and responsive communication, and we truly appreciated getting to meet him as part of the delivery of these tables, and learning a bit more about his company, sourcing the retiring boats and ultimately crafting these one-of-a-kind pieces. I'm so pleased to have found an artist and craftsman who has cares so much about his work and sustainability - and now I'm eyeing another piece from Voiej... 100% would purchase again and highly recommend Zaid and his company!
